Enhanced Direct Messaging, Directory, and new Application Access API Services Now Available
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- EMR Direct, a leading developer of software for the secure exchange of health information over the Internet, today announced availability of Interoperability Engine 2017, with new and enhanced functionality designed for ease of deployment, and to meet requirements of the new 2015 Edition Health Information Technology (Health IT) certification criteria.
EMR Direct has made it easy for vendors to enable broad interoperability. One in three vendors certified for Direct-related criteria under the current ONC 2014 Edition requirements has already integrated EMR Direct software into their products. In addition to custom integrations, EMR Direct's Health Information Service Provider (HISP) services can also be connected to any Health IT using SMTP/POP or XDR endpoints, or used independently through a web browser. Directory services allow EMR Direct HISP customers to locate providers within a nationwide network of over 1.27 million providers.
New functionality introduced in this release allows vendors to rapidly deploy public Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), enabling patients to access their electronic health data using the HL7® FHIR® standard. EMR Direct will also offer a client application platform, HealthToGo, to connect with public Application Access APIs.
This product announcement coincides with EMR Direct's admission into the DirectTrust Governmental Trust Bundle. EMR Direct was the first HISP to successfully meet the additional requirements of this trust community, created for Direct Exchange with governmental agencies.
Health IT professionals can sign up for an Interoperability Engine Developer account including access to phiMail® and phiQuery™ component SDKs and a complimentary test Direct address at:
